Land-Based Tournaments in Titan Poker’s Future

Titan Poker has begun a wide-reaching effort to sponsor land-based tournaments and has chosen the Eurocity Poker Tour (ECPT) as its first. The ECPT will begin on May 9th and run through the 12th at the Casino Gran Madrid in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain.

Though the tournament is land-based, the field will consist of 200 predominantly online players who can qualify via online satellites. Titan Poker is providing that opportunity for its players via numerous online satellites that are underway now. Each day there are sit-n-go’s operating at various times with buy-ins ranging from $3 + .30 to $27.50 + $2.50. There will also be super satellites running on specific dates in March and April with $250 + $25 buy-ins.

Winners of the prize packages will receive a 1000 Euro buy-in to the ECPT Madrid Open, as well as two round-trip airline tickets from anywhere in Europe, and hotel and meal accommodations for the player and a guest for three nights. Each package is worth the equivalent of US $3000.

A spokeswoman for Titan Poker released a statement regarding the site’s intention of making these types of partnerships with land-based tournaments a regular event. “At the rate of our expansion, and considering the number of players we are sending to tournaments every month, it only makes sense that Titan Poker should take it to the next level. We are already making a huge presence at these tournaments. Now that Titan Poker is the sponsor, it will just be more visible!”

It seems that Titan Poker will be more visible in land-based tournaments in the future, whether sending players to the events via online satellites to represent the Titan Poker Team or sponsoring the events themselves.
