Bodog Poker’s Beta Client Available for Immediate Download

Downloading Bodog’s Beta Poker client will not affect your current version if you already have Bodog Poker installed. I’ve been running Bodog’s beta poker client for over a month alongside their standard poker client without any conflicts. Check it out now.
The biggest improvement over their current client is the ability to resize tables. The number of tables you can have open at any one time is still limited to three (3) but, this paves the way for the ability to open more tables. Bodog has hinted this is coming after completing their beta testing.
Feature improvement highlights in the latest beta (as of 6-17-08):
• Full Screen Mode
• Resizable game play windows
• Embedded chat and game details
• On demand “Player Tools”
Here’s a rundown explaining their latest improvements in detail.
- Full Screen Mode: As you might expect, this means you can expand a single table to cover your entire screen. You can also open several tables “stacked” in full screen mode. Each window is stacked on top of one another and brought to the front when the action is on you. You can also use alt-tab to toggle between tables. Many players prefer this method over running a bunch of tables in small windows.
- Resizable game play windows: As mentioned earlier, this is by far their biggest improvement. Fit as many tables as you like (up to 3 currently) across the top, bottom or down one side of your screen. I was able to read my hole cards, the board, bet sizes, pot size, stack sizes, chat and game details clearly even at the smallest table setting with my 24” LCD. Your mileage may vary.
- Embedded chat and game details: By default, the beta client chat window shares the game details. In other words you see each player’s action, cards dealt and chat all in the same window. You can filter out the chat or game details based on your preference. This is extremely easy to do by just clicking on the bottom left-hand corner of the chat/game details window to choose your preference. You can easily toggle back and forth and scroll up if think you might have missed something.
- On demand “Player Tools”: Bodog introduces another cool feature with “Player Tools”. Click on “Player Tools” in the upper right-hand corner of the window and choose between Stats/Notes/Profiles/Chat/Game Details to open a floating window you can move anywhere you want on your screen. The Stats tool shows your session stats. The Notes tool lists all players seated at your table for you to view and post notes on their play. The Profile tool allows you to view each player’s profile. The Chat tool allows you to view player/observer chat and finally the Game Details tool shows all the action at your table.
