Poker Stars makes upgrades even a Macintosh Russian user would like
Apr 4, 2008By: Let's say you're Russian. Or perhaps you're a Mac user, which, if you're a Mac user, is kind of like being in Russia, like Siberia, in the online poker world.
At least it was.
PokerStars continues to make improvements to its software and two of the highlights include it now being available in Russian and as a beta for Mac users.
I have used both versions of PokerStars, and as a Mac lover, I don't think you'll notice any difference in the game play, look or feel of PokerStars for a Macintosh.
If you do want to see the lobby in Russian, click 'Language,' 'Play in' and select "Pyccknn" (or something close to that, I don't see little Russian symbols on my keyboard).
Here are some other highlights of the latest improvements to the PokerStars software.
• You can receive e-mails in your preferred language – Like…Russian. Simply open the PokerStars software, click on Languages and select 'send me emails in...' and then choose your preferred language.
• You can also even change the language of your hand histories. Once you have the hand histories folder up, click on 'Options,' and then select your language from the drop-down menu.
• View your cards after folding - If you want to lament folding 7-3 off suit pre-flop, only to see to that 4-5-6 board, you can simply move your mouse over your avatar and they will appear, so you can curse yourself over and over.
• If you don't want to curse yourself over and over, you can turn the feature off too.
• More languages for the lobby - This upgrade gives you several new choices, including Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Hungarian. Do this by selecting 'Language' and 'Play in' on the tool bar.
And you thought the world wasn't made for Norwegian Mac users.
