PokerStars Rolls out New VIP Club

So with that in mind, PokerStars has now made their VIP program better than ever! As of March 1, 2009, the PokerStars VIP club began to offer the most rewards to date so that players like you can reap the benefits!
With the new VIP program, now it is much easier for players to attain the monthly VIP levels. PokerStars has lowered the number of VIP Player Points (VPPs) required to attain the levels of Silver Star, Gold Star and Platinum Star VIP levels. To achieve the Silver Star level, you now only need 1,200 VPPS per month whereas before players needed was 1,500 VPPs. To reach the Gold Star level, you now need only 3,000 VPPs monthly versus 4,000 and for Platinum Star level you will only need to earn 7,500 VPPs monthly instead of 10,000! These changes have put the stars within easy reach and you can shine through to new levels in no time at all! Then as you fly through the ranks, you will have the pleasure of enjoying more and more benefits as you aspire to become a high tier VIP player!
What’s more, PokerStars has also increased the weekly VIP tournament prize pools. The old $50,000 weekly VIP Freeroll prize pool is out and the newly increased $75,000 weekly VIP Freeroll prize pool is in! Plus the VIP tournament structure now has 12 minute blinds, giving players more play time. But that’s not all because the $20,000 weekly VIP event with a 100 FPP buy-in has also been pumped up! PokerStars has added even more money to the weekly event making it a $30,000 prize pool!
Players will find that not only is it easier to earn their points, but they will also have a much more lucrative way to use them. With these prize pool increases, the total value of PokerStars VIP events now has jumped to more than $6.5 million annually, and this excludes any special VIP events occurring throughout the year! But wait - there’s even more exciting changes in store, because now Supernova and Supernova Elite players will be able to retain their VIP status for the following year! This means those high rollers can keep their VPPs all the way until the end of September instead of the end of June, giving them an additional three months to enjoy their status. And this extension is in effect for all 2008 Supernova and Supernova Elite VIPs too!
Another improvement is with the Milestone Bonus reward program. Milestone Bonuses are now Milestone Cash Credits, which means that Supernova milestone bonuses will now be awarded as cash credits! Therefore, when a Supernova level player obtains earnings of 200,000 VPPs for the year, they can receive a $2,000 cash credit for only 50,000 Frequent Player Points (FPP), with no need to earn an additional 10,000 VPPs!
