When the inaugural Bodog Poker Open launched its first event on March 3rd, players from around the world signed up to participate, including members of Team Bodog Evelyn Ng, Josh Arieh, and David Williams. Out of the field of 377 players, the second and third place finishers were Ng and Arieh.

The Bodog Poker Open consists of six events, and with the publicity surrounding the first ever tournament series on Bodog, attendance in Event #1 was positive. Among the 377 participants in the $250 + $20 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament were Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad, Kevin “beLOWaBOVe” Saul, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, Eric “Rizen” Lynch, and Thayer “Thay3r” Rasmussen.

The prize pool was boosted by a $10,000 addition by Bodog to create a $104,250 total pool. First place was won by online player “Rusostreet” who took the first Bodog Poker Open event title and a substantial payday of $26,062.50, along with a seat into the main event to get underway on March 9th.

Second place was secured by Team Bodog pro Evelyn Ng, who won $16,680 for her efforts, and third place was taken by fellow team member and pro Josh Arieh for $11,571.75. That is certainly one way to show what the experience of playing on Bodog can do!

The Bodog Poker Open main event was scheduled for Sunday, March 9th at 4pm EST. Players can register by paying the $500 buy-in or playing in the numerous daily satellites that will run until the start time of the event. Bodog will be adding an additional $25,000 to the prize pool, so the first prize looks to be a substantial one. In addition, the winner of the event will receive an engraved Omega Speed Master Pro watch worth $4400 along with the prestige of winning the first ever Bodog Poker Open championship event.
